I had a really great seat tonight at Rock's football game in Sioux Falls, SD. He plays for the Sioux Falls Storm and I decided to come out and visit him and see a few games. I lucked out on being in the first row because the family seats are usually farther away, but um, I had the hook-up.
Rock is such a nice guy that he gives his tickets away to people in the community, luckily 2 of his friends and loyal fans, Tom and Jean had an extra season ticket in the front row. So this was my view of the game. In fact, I was pretty nervous on occassion because in arena football, guys get knocked over the boards all the time. And believe me, they were too close for comfort more than once. I just wasn't in the mood for some huge guys to get all smacked up and flipped up onto me while I was trying to be half-cute to represent for Rock, lol.
I ended up coming to the last regular season game and the team awards were given out. Rock was named Defensive Player of the Year. He also got a sack in which he recovered the ball, so he threw it out to me. That, coupled with all the scoring and the defensive tenacity it was a great game! Next up are some post-game festivities. Until next time...
Isn't this cute? BreAzia (my daughter) is holding Kelli's son, JT. He had a blast letting BreAzia stack the blocks so he could knock them down. Block party 2.0.
For those of you that don't go way back to my Frank D. Parent or St. Bernard days, Kelli Is my best friend since the 4th grade. Still rolling thicker than a milkshake, when I'm in the country.
Well here's a 200 TL (Turkish lira) bill. The best I could do. I figured those of you who haven't seen Turkish currency would find a bill in this denomination interesting. I do. But sadly, I'll either spend it or exchange it before I return to the States in the next few days.
We lost today in the semi-finals of the Turkish Basketball League Championship 67-62. This loss eliminated us from the playoffs. Although our season is over, all is not lost. We still made history this year winning Mersin's first President's Cup to start the season. We would've preferred going all the way and watching the confetti drop, but it is what it is, as they say.
On to the next phase. I'm always on the move, so stay tuned...
Leg space is crucial on flights, especially nowadays when they are squeezing more rows into each plane. Besides that, I'm all legs, so I hope for an exit row each time I fly.
